Dr. THAM earned his Bachelor of Medicine from Xiamen University, Doctor of Medicine (MD) Integrated Chinese Medicine & Western Clinical Medicine (Oncology) from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GUCM) and Doctor of Medicine (PHD) in Biomedical Engineering.

He is involved in ongoing extensive research on anti-aging cellular therapy since 2006. He works very closely with his Swiss and Asian counterparts in advancing the human understanding of cellular therapy and is eager to share his experiences in this field.

He also actively participates in cancer research. One of his important scientific breakthroughs is the discovery of penetrating tyrosinase inhibitor to reduce the production of melanin for skin beauty and whitening. He also described in his recent publication on the successful construction of retroviral transfection system that could be developed as a means of gene therapy for hepatic carcinoma.

Dr. Tham as Group Chief Executive Officer and Group Chief Research Scientist will be the main personality leading and driving the ALPS Group to greater heights towards recognition as a global biotechnology company serving humanity.

LISA TEOH

CHIEF OPERATION OFFICER (COO), ALPS GROUP

Ms. Lisa TEOH is a project leader and has over 27 years of experience in successfully delivering large complex infrastructure & property projects in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia and Dubai. She is a civil engineer registered with professional institutions in Malaysia and an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer. She graduated in 1995 from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, with a Master’s Degree in Engineering Science (Civil), specialising in civil / construction / structural / production operations, and QAQC. She led diverse teams of multidiscipline and multinational consultants & specialists in delivering varying projects for property/land development, roads, airports, and desalination plants. During recent years, she had also led a large contractor’s team in delivering and recovering distressed projects.

Prof. Manickam RAVICHANDRAN

Chief Scientific Officer (CSO)

Prof M. Ravichandran obtained his M.Sc. Medical Microbiology from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, and gained his PhD in Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai, India. His research interests are Human lymphatic filariasis, genetically engineered cholera vaccine and formulation, Covid-19 vaccine and drug development, molecular diagnostics and phage therapy. He has 80 publications in international journals with 2027 citations and an h-index of 25. He has supervised 55 MSc/PhD students and examined 65 postgraduate students locally and internationally. He has filed 14 patents. On product development, he successfully technology transferred EZDNA Amp diagnostic technology and commercialised three products on diagnostics. He has written over 21 articles in the press, and he is a New Strait Time (NST) columnist.

Previously Prof Ravi was the former Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of AIMST University, Malaysia. He was also the Chairman of Covid-19 Task force at AIMST University. He holds director positions at Vax Biotech Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, which is a spin-off company of his cholera vaccine patent. He has been awarded 50 national and international awards for academic and research excellence, including Ideas Inventions New Products – (IENA), Nuremberg Germany; International Exhibition of Inventions: New Technologies and Products, Geneva and National Innovation Award, Malaysia. He was an associate member and the Committee member on ‘TOP RESEARCH SCIENTISTS MALAYSIA’ (TRSM) of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM).

Dr. Benjamin GEORGE Jr is the eldest son of Dr. Benjamin GEORGE Sr. He attended National University of Ireland (NUI), and was conferred his MB.BCh.BAO, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Obstetrics and simultaneously received his LRCP & SI, Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in Dublin in 1983. In 1990, he received his postgraduate degree at the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of Edinburgh in Scotland, one of the oldest surgical fellowships founded in 1505 by King James IV that fosters the highest standard of surgical practice.

Dr. GEORGE Jr. started his illustrious career at the Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale, England, initially as a House Officer in General, Vascular Surgery and later Renal Medicine. He went on to become the Senior House Officer at the internationally recognized Royal Preston Hospital, where he was a Doctor in General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

He is currently Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur and George Plastic Surgery Clinic. He is also a visiting Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Pantai Cheras Medical Centre. Armed with more than 30 years of experience as a doctor in various fields and more than 22 years specialising in plastic surgery, Dr. GEORGE Jr. is undoubtedly a well sought-after doctor, having served in many outstanding hospitals, both internationally and locally. Local television networks have on numerous occasions tapped on his expertise to speak on plastic surgery.

Dr. GEORGE Jr. was bestowed an Honorary Fellowship in 1995 at the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (AM/FAMM). He also obtained his Diploma in Psychology, specializing in counselling at the Lee Community College in Singapore, the Best Private College for Psychology and Counselling programmes cited by Edupoll.
