ALPS Group Inc. is encouraging Filipinos to take a more proactive approach to their health through preventive care, early detection and personalised health management.
Healthcare often begins only after symptoms appear, test results become abnormal or an illness has progressed. ALPS is advocating a shift toward understanding health risks earlier and using reliable information to support better decisions before disease develops.
The Malaysia-based biotechnology and wellness group is exploring opportunities to expand its presence in the Philippines, including potential collaboration with local healthcare and industry experts. Its approach brings together early detection, personalised health insights and long-term wellness support.
The need for preventive care is significant. World Health Organization figures cited in the report indicate that noncommunicable diseases accounted for 68 percent of deaths in the Philippines in 2021, representing approximately 622,200 deaths.
ALPS believes healthcare should form part of everyday life rather than being accessed only when a person becomes ill. Its preventive-health philosophy is designed to help people understand their current health status, recognise potential risks earlier and make informed lifestyle choices over time.
Amanda Low, chief operating officer of ALPS Group Inc., explained that preventive healthcare begins with a change in how people think about their health: becoming informed and proactive instead of waiting for a problem to emerge.
The group’s integrated ecosystem combines health assessments, precision medicine, lifestyle medicine and personalised wellness recommendations to support a more holistic approach to long-term health.
